JUSTICE LEAGUE "World's Greatest Super-Heroes"

BATMAN

WHY THE'RE COOL

In the DC Universe of Superheroes, they are the best of the best! Their members are usually the most popular characters in the DC Universe. And their adventures are often the most epic and imaginative.

Originally, the heroes came together to stop a group of aliens from using the Earth as a war zone. After defeating the aliens (first individually and then as a group), the heroes decided to form a team, to defend the world against threats too big for one hero: The Justice League of America (the “of America” is often dropped so the team doesn't seem bias). The original line-up was: Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman, Aquaman, the Flash, Green Lantern and the Martian Manhunter. From that point they would constantly be adding members like: Green Arrow, the Atom, Hawkman, Hawk Woman, Black Canary, Red Tornado, Elongated Man, Firestorm, Vixen, Blue Beetle, Booster Gold, Fire, Ice, Captain Atom, Black Lightning and many more.

The teams has no government affiliation and is financed by Batman (aka Bruce Wayne). Originally, the team hung out in their Secret Sanctuary, located in a cave in Rhode Island. Then they moves to the Justice League Satellite, which was 22,300 miles above Metropolis, in geosynchronous orbit. Later they moved to a Head Quarters on the moon. Since their headquarters is often not on Earth, they use teleporters, set-up by Hawkman, to take the team anywhere in the world they need to be.

To make things confusing, the Justice League has been re-imaged over the years. At one time Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman were not members and they had United Nation Embassies all over the world. Now a days, former Teen Titan Cyborg has replaced the Martian Manhunter as a founding member.

MOVIE VERSION

In the upcoming JUSTICE LEAGUE movie, the team comes together because of the threat of Darkseid, who was hinted at in BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE (Darkseid also the reason the team formed in comicbooks, due to recent re-writes). And it is Batman who forms the team. Also, at the start of the movie, Superman is dead (see BVS:DOJ). And reflecting the newest comicbooks, Cyborg and not the Martain Manhunter is in the film.

COOL KID
This is a great little collectiable featuring all seven founding members of the Justice League.  The little rubber guys are kept safe in a Hall of Justice box, model after the classic Saturday Morning cartoon show, the Superfriend.  Any superhero nerd will love it!  GOOD FOR KIDS

COOL KID
Don't let the cover throw you off, because there is a Justice League connection here.  This is an art book of Bruce Timm, featuring a great interview and tons of his amazing work.  Bruce Timm is the guy who made Batman: The Animated Series, and the Justice League cartoons.  Every fan knows him, and any cool kid will be blew away to have this book

NEWBIE
This is one of the best Justice League stories, as superstar writer Grant Morrison.  It relaunches the team with the core seven members.  Any new fan is going to love it! GOOD FOR KIDS

NEWBIE
This a brilliant, heartfelt, and thoughtful retelling of the Justice League's origin, as told by superstar writer/artist Darwyn Cooke.  This was his master piece.  Set in the 1960's, and built around JFK's New Frontier speech.  Any new fan of the Justice League has no idea the treat you just got them!  GOOD FOR KIDS

FAN
The original Justice League comics used to always cross over with the 1940's team the Justice Society.  This book has all the first cross-overs.  Each one is a classic, and probably not read by any current fan! GOOD FOR KIDS

FAN
Most Justice League fans are into Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman.  But in the late 1980's, the team was turned into a collection of B level heroes.  So many fans skipped this.  But it became a smash hit with a good dose of humor.  Even without the A-listers, a Justice League fan will love this book!  GOOD FOR KIDS

DIEHARD
Give a diehard fan this shirt and watch their eyes pop.  This the classic cover of the Crisis on Infinite Earths #1 turned into a wrap around t-shirt.  It's just awesome.  This comic reinvent the entire DC Universe back in 1985!

DIEHARD
The Justice League was born of the silver age of comics (the 1960's) and writer artist Darwyn Cooke loves the Silver Age.  His work is a breath of fresh air to diehard fans (who love the Silver Age as well).  This is a book of his art, and fans will love it!
