THE FANTASTIC FOUR
WHY HE'S COOL
They are the first family of comicbook superheroes! And the first heroes created by Stan Lee, ushering a new era of more realistic and dynamic superheroes. Featuring: Mr. Fantastic, who is a scientific genius and has an elastic body; the Invisible Girl (or Woman), can turn invisible, create invisible force shields and make others invisible; the Human Torch, can cover his body with fire, shoot flames and fly; the Thing, covered in large orange rocks, is invulnerable and super strong.
One day, Reed Richards built his own spaceship, then got his girlfriend, Sue Storm and her brother, Johnny Storm to come along on the maiden voyage. His best friend, Ben Grimm, was the pilot. Once in outer-space, they were exposed to cosmic rays which altered their DNA (yeah, cosmic rays don't work that way). As a man of science, Reed felt the group should use their new powers to better mankind, so the Fantastic Four was born. Living and working together in the tops floors of the Baxter Building in Manhattan.
Originally a teenager, the Human Torch is always getting into mischief with his powers. The Thing often feels sorry for himself, being a “monster”. Mr. Fantastic is a workaholic, often unaware of team issues. And the Invisible Woman is the long suffering heart and glue of the team. Like any family, you can see how they often bickering with each other. Eventually, Reed and Sue got married, and had a child, Franklin Richards.
The adventures of these sci-fi heroes take them into space, to fight Galactus; under the Earth's crust to battle the Mole Man; through time facing Rama Tut, and into alternate dimensions against Annihilus. But most of all they fight Dr. Doom, the greatest Marvel super-villain! An armored, Eastern European dictator, as smart as Mr. Fantastic.
Relatively speaking, there is no current movie version of the Fantastic Four. Each time a movie has been made about them, it was never very successful. A very low budget one was made in 1994 and was never released. Then in 2005 and 2007 there was FANTASTIC FOUR and FANTASTIC FOUR: RISE OF THE SILVER SURFER. Each one was fairly successful, neither was well liked. Lastly in 2015, a darker more gritty version was made, FANTASTIC FOUR. Critics hated it, so did fans and it flopped at the box office. So there is no telling when we will see another Fantastic Four movie, but you know we will.
Often better than a character pic, is the logo t-shirt. While the Batman and Superman logo have been beaten into the ground, you don't see too many Fantastic Four logo t-shirts around. As only another fan will understand!
